Another box of books has arrived at my house and the local book store also has more books. Folks keep coming into his establishment (now upstairs over Pony Expresso coffee house) and asking to buy Charcoal and Chalk.
Saturday, February 4th, Willowbridge Books in Oakhurst held a book signing for me and my good friend, Joan Schoettler, who has written a beautiful children’s book, Good Fotune in a Wrapping Cloth, about a little Korean girl. We both agreed the event was a happy success.
And there’s more! Daughter-in-law Lisa Burlingame and I are traveling to Texas to attend the Texas State Historical Association Annual Meeting in Houston March 1-3. We have reserved a table in the Exhibit Hall to show, talk about, and sell Charcoal and Chalk. To add to the excitement, I have been invited by Carol Wood, archivist for the Rosenberg Library in Galveston, to talk about my book and do a book signing on March 3rd. Details are still being worked out.
And more yet! On March 4th, daughter Donna Harris is organizing a book signing in Claremont, California—time and location to be announced.
